How often should my lawn be mowed?
Weekly mowing is recommended for optimal health and appearance.
What is the best mowing height?
4 inches is generally ideal. Mowing too short can cause stress, weeds, and disease.
How soon can I walk on the lawn after a treatment?
Typically once the product has dried, but it is best to wait 24 hours for weed control to be effective.
How soon will I see results?
Results are not instant. Weed control can take 7–10 days to show results. Sometimes, more than 1 application is required to see results.
What kind of fertilizer do you use?
We use commercial-grade fertilizer with slow-release nitrogen.
Do I need to be home for the service?
No, as long as pets are inside and gates are unlocked, services can be completed without the homeowner present. We will either leave an invoice on your front door or email the invoice depending on your preference.
How do I know when you are coming?
When your account is initially set up, we will set up your preferences for forms of contact. If requested, we will call or email you 1-2 days prior to coming out to service your lawn. Unfortunately, Maryland weather makes it difficult to know exact days (or even weeks) that services will be provided.
Do you offer aeration and overseeding?
Yes, three of our plans offer seeding & aeration. We automatically offer spot seeding with our plans, and if needed an over-seeding.
Are your products safe for pets and children?
We use EPA-approved products and follow strict application guidelines to ensure safety once dry.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured in the state of Maryland.
How often should I water my lawn?
Generally, 1 inch of water per week is needed, ideally between 6:00 am and 8:00 am or later in the evening. Watering too much or during the peak time of day can result in fungus growing.
How do you handle sprinkler heads?
When the account is set up, we will discuss the property details which includes any possible obstructions such as sprinkler heads or under ground dog fences. We will arrive a few days prior to the anticipated service date and drop off flags so that you can mark where the sprinkler heads or underground dog fences are.
What if I have a dog fence?
When the account is set up, we will discuss the property details, which include any possible obstructions such as dog fences. We will arrive a few days prior to the anticipated service date and drop off flags so that you can mark where the underground dog fences are.
My lawns has brown patches - what is it?
Brown patches on your lawn are a common sign of fungus. It's very common in the spring for fungus to spread. A super wet season, plus heat and humidity, can also cause brown patches as well as overwatering the lawn during high humidity.
How can I get an estimate?
You can call into the office or send an email. We will call you to get some basic information and to discuss when we are able to come out for an estimate. Once the estimate is done, we will leave the estimate with some information in your front door.
